Data Analytics Engineer I

About the Role

dv01 is the central data hub between lenders and capital markets, bringing transparency to the $16T+ structured finance market. More than 400 of the largest financial institutions use dv01 to manage 75+ million loans. As a Data Analytics Engineer I, you will own the business logic in our core data pipeline, bridge engineering and analyst teams, and work with cutting-edge open source tools on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  Own and scale the business logic in dv01's core data pipeline, which powers all customer-facing products.

  Integrate new datasets by working directly with internal analysts and external customers to understand data complexities.

  Build and debug pipelines using dbt, Airflow, Apache Spark, and GCP tools including BigQuery and Dataproc.

  Write production-ready code in Python or Scala, handling messy raw data and complex financial business logic.

• 5

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, navigate shifting priorities, and deliver solutions with measurable client impact.

Requirements

• Ability to write production-ready code in Python, Scala, or Java, and high proficiency in SQL.
• Understanding of relational data concepts, data modeling, and how business logic maps to table structures.
• Experience with big data tools and pipelines — wrangling raw data, expressing business logic, and configuring/debugging pipelines.
• Interest and experience at the intersection of engineering and finance (amortization, prepay, default modeling).
• Strong communication skills; comfortable with direct client interaction and uncovering unstated requirements.
